About EDEN
Culture sustained by artists and communities, not gatekept by capital.
Our vision
A thriving underground music environment where financial barriers no longer limit creation or participation. We aim to sustain the underground culture created by artists and communities — not gatekept by capital. We offer a resistance to rising economic pressure, where live music on proper sound systems is not a luxury, but a standard.
Why "Eudaimonia"
Flourishing — the point of the whole thing.
Eudaimonia (you-dai-MO-nia) is an ancient Greek idea: the state of living a deeply meaningful, virtuous life in which a person fully realizes their potential and flourishes. Aristotle called it the ultimate goal of human life — not a passing feeling, but an activity of the soul in accordance with arete, or excellence: the fulfillment of one's purpose and potential.
EDEN was founded on a simple version of that idea. Our founder loves two things — finance and dubstep — and asked how to combine them in service of the community: to gather resources and distribute them so that the quality of life for the people around him increases. EDEN is that vessel. We use financial knowledge to further the underground dubstep movement, so that live music on proper sound systems stays reachable and no one is kept off the stage by cost alone.
Mission
Offset the costs that keep emerging contributors out.
EDEN provides stipends, grants, and targeted funding for travel, creation, and live event participation. The foundation supports emerging artists, performers, photographers, vendors, promoters, sound engineers, and collectives working in electronic music communities.
Governance
Board-led, transparent, and aligned with charitable arts support.
EDEN is organized for charitable, educational, and arts-support purposes. Grants require Board approval, conflicts require disclosure and recusal, and grant records are retained for at least seven years.
